Location
I took it when I was on vacation with my family in Moab. This is Dead Horse PointTime
It was taken around mid afternoon.Lighting
I just used the sun, made sure you could see down to the bottom of the canyon.Equipment
I used a Pentax k-50 without flash. It was taken with a wide angle lens.Inspiration
I loved the way the river curved around the edges of the canyon like a snake. The sun also brought out the colors in the red rock, I couldn't resist.Editing
For some of the photograph I used a preset to bring out the purple and red tones on the rock, and the dark ashy color in the clouds. I also made sure to increase the clarity so you could see all the details in the cliff face.In my camera bag
I always bring with me my Pentax k-50, it's my favorite so far. I also make sure to grab to extra lenses (especially a wide angle). And I always make sure that someone in the group has grabbed a tripod.Feedback
When you're in Moab, the weather can change overnight, do make sure you're prepared. It can be sunny one day and snowy the next. Make sure you have equipment that is capable to shoot in those conditions and take into account how it's going to reflect in your photo.
