Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken at Dapoli Beach in Maharashtra, India

Time

It was sunset time around 6PM.

Lighting

Sun was going down, ambient lights were fading fast. So I decided to give classic beach photography a try and here is the result.

Equipment

It was a Canon S500 camera.

Inspiration

She was one of my office senior and mentor, over a period of time I had learned a lot from her in both professional and personal aspects. Somehow, I felt that a decent photograph will be her farewell gift.

Editing

Not much post processing as such. Just applied a few basic ones- modified contrast and sharpened the image a bit.

In my camera bag

Mostly my camera and a gorilla pod.

Feedback

Beaches are great for photography specially during sunrise and sunset. Having a subject who is patient and willing to help you out, also play a major role in getting the perfect shot. Carry a tripod stand or gorilla pod if your photos seem shaky. Sunsets in particular happen very quickly at beaches, so keep a track of light as it begins to fade. There are limited attempts you have for the needed shot.
