Behind The Lens

Location

In Willimantic, Connecticut. It was on an old road bridge turned into a garden park. The town calls it The Garden Bridge.

Time

If I remember correctly, it was just after dawn. I got up before dawn and waited for the sun to rise.

Lighting

It was all natural taken in the moment.

Equipment

It was shot with my faithful Cannon 20d with a Tamerac macro lens.

Inspiration

I wanted to work with a dynamic, and organic subject. While going around the Garden Bridge, I came upon a flowering this plant. It had survived the urban conditions in which it lived and was strong and beautiful through out fascinated me.

Editing

Very little, just adjustments in exposer, whites and blacks. There was no manipulation, masks or altering the of the image itself.

In my camera bag

Just my camera, bulb attachment, and a tripod slung over the side.

Feedback

Time of day matters, not just in lighting, but in subject mater. Nature is a funny thing, it reacts to the ebbs and flows of the sun, moon just like everything less. Being ready at the right time, is just as important as being at the right place.
