Behind The Lens

Location

This was taken in the Houston zoo.

Time

This photo was taken around afternoon on a cloudy day with my newly bought Canon 100-400 IS II lens, which I took for testing and was impressed by the images.

Lighting

It was a cloudy day and this ape was resting under shades.

Equipment

It was a hand held shot with my Canon 70D and Canon 100-400mm IS II lens

Inspiration

I happened to watch a video blog from one of the photographer, who frequents to different zoo for wild life photos and was inspired to know about the possibilities inside a zoo where you can visit any number of times.

Editing

I had to brighten the image and reduce the shades. And also crop to get the right composition.

In my camera bag

My Canon 70 D camera, Canon 24-105 f4 IS and Canon 100-400 mm IS II lens and Canon 50 mm f1.8 with ND filter and monopod.

Feedback

Zoo is wonderful place to take photographs of animals, where you can get closer to the animal and more possibility to take more shots. You can also visit the zoo as many times as you would need to get a good picture.
