Though not for this particular shot I was wanting to have sunlight coming through the overhead canopies so we were shooting early afternoon. 2:30pm for this shot.Lighting

I had been struggling at the time with the breakdown of a friendship. So my good friends decided to organise this shoot as a surprise for me. It was just what I needed. A fun colourful afternoonof cosplay photograph.Editing

My standard gear for a shoot is Canon 700D with battery grip. My go to lens is my 40mm f2.8 pancake... It may be cheap but its super sharp and soooo light. 2 x Yongnuo 600ex-rt speedlights and yn-e3-rt transmitter. Vanguard aluminium tripod. Gary Fong Light Sphere diffuser. 2 cheap lighting stands that get treated accordingly. White shoot through umbrella. LED Lenser P6 torch. And my fun assortment of LED and bulb lights for long exposures at night. All tucked up in my Lowepro bag.Feedback
Cosplay photography or anything that involves a model for me all comes down to making them comfortable and have fun. When they are relaxed the poses flow naturally. I try to capture the essence of the character they are cosplaying too of course.
