This shot was made nearly 2 years ago during my Thailand trip on Railay Beach, Krabi province. I was mesmerized by the sun, Thai spices, wind, hot weather and a storm, which is coming from the sea. Photograph edited many times. This is a new version, new edition.

Location
The photo was taken in Thailand, Railay Beach, Krabi ProvinceTime
It was taken around 3PM - the time that all photographers are not counting as best shooting time, but you can see the storm is coming from the sea, so it created just great conditions.Lighting
The lighting in this shot is coming from the sun, which is still not covered by clouds. Additionally you can see the storm, which is coming to the beach from the sea. Nice reflections and colors were created by the water, rocks, boats and trees that are in composition. Actually it is "five seconds opportunity" to make your shot before the light will go out.Equipment
I used Fujifilm X-E2 on a tripod with Fujinon XF10-24/F4.0 lens and Lee ND filter (0.9) to catch dramatic clouds.Inspiration
I arrived to the Railay Beach just to see this place when I suddenly realize that the weather is changing fast. We walked by the beach with my wife and I was mesmerized by the outlook, the light, the boats and the storm coming from the sea.Editing
Yes I did. I treated this shot in Lightroom to achieve more dramatic lighting and contrast. Some people were in the left part of photo, so I removed them in Photoshop. I used Detail Extractor and Reflector filters from Nik Color Efex Pro software to create final image. In my camera bag
I mostly using my Fujifilm X-E2 camera with 3-4 lenses. I am using Fujinon lenses like XF10-24, XF56, XF18-55, XF55-200. I am using very light tripod for my travel photography - Sirui T-025X. I also using Lee ND filters to catch more dynamic range in the scenes where lighting is varying a lot. I have remote trigger, Lenspen cleaner, additional battery and SD card as well. All of this equipment suite in my small backpack, due to compact sizes of Fuji mirrorless camera/lenses.Feedback
Whenever you are going to stunning location, you better have all possible equipment with you. If you are going to shoot in the mid of the day, try to catch "contrast weather". It means you need to have better light contrasts with sun, clouds and some reflective surfaces. Do not shoot in strait against the sun, try to avoid direct sunlight hitting your camera in a "wrong" shooting time. Always use maximum wide angle lens available.Always shoot in RAW. Come to your shooting subject as close as possible, to create domination of it in the shot. Don't forget to check what exactly you are including in the frame. Try to avoid "visual garbage" as much as possible, or remove it during post-processing. Do not shy to post process your images, because you can improve the photograph much more than camera software can do.
