The eyes are the window to the soul, and the purity and innocence of animals that need our protection. This kiwi chick has to be raised in captivity to stand a greater chance of survival in the wild. Naturally there is less than a 10% survival rate of kiwi chicks born into the wild. Raising them in captivity until they are bigger and stronger boosts this number to 60-70%
