Location
I took this photo at Antelope Canyon down by Page AZ. It is a slot canyon on the Navaho reservation. I took a photography tour, so there were only 8 of us in the group. We left about 10am so we could be in the right place when the sun came in.Time
This picture was taken around noon. As I was looking around, I noticed spot where the sun was hitting the sandstone just right.Lighting
While others were photographing the "everyone shoots this picture" I was busy looking for a more interesting shoot. This is one of several that I saw.Equipment
I used my Canon 20D with the kit lens. I didn't have my tripod with me, so I steadied myself against the rock. This was taken with ISO 800 for 1/4 sec.Inspiration
just the beauty around me. Nature, to me, is one of the best "painter's". I try to look at thing in a different way, just to find a different way of shooting it.Editing
No post processing done. I really like to get thinks right in the camera, if I can.In my camera bag
I normally have a camera body ( now a Canon 5D mark111), the kit lens (24-105), a 75-200 zoom lens, a 1.4x and a 2x converter, flash and a polarizing filter, and a soft cloth for if my lens or camera get wet or dirty. Also, my lens hood.Feedback
Take your time, look around, let the area "speak" to you. I try to never rush myself just to take a photo. I like to "listen" to the area around me.
