I took this photograph at a Wilderness Center in Wayne County, Ohio. This beautiful flower is called the Trumpet Creeper. It can be in the shape of a shrub or spread like a vine, depending on whether it has something to climb.

Ruby Throated Hummingbirds and BumbleBees are one of the few animals that can reach the nectar inside the flower. The flowers grow up to 3" long and if allowed; will crowd out other flowers. The fruit of the tree is a 3" - 6" long pod. The pods are filled with seeds and once they open, the wind can take the seeds to a different location and start a new plant. These plants can grow up 30' tall.

These flowers are beautiful. I took many photographs to get just the right shot. Hopefully, I have done them justice.
