Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was take at Cobre High School Softball Field. Deidre Vega, was my first High School Senior, she was great.

Time

This is one of my more popular shots, taken in the early evening. I was trying to capture how much she loves the sport of Softball.

Lighting

This was all natural light, perfect time of evening. The sun and clouds knew exactly what I was looking for and they provided the perfect light. I did a little bit of editing in photoshop and added a little brush stroke in the background.

Equipment

Canon T3, EFS 18-55 Lens, Photoshop

Inspiration

My first High School Senior shoot. I was trying to capture how much she enjoys the sport of softball.

Editing

Yes, in photoshop. I darkened the background, converted to black and white used a brush stroke for the background effect.

In my camera bag

I don't carry a whole lot, my Canon T3, Kit lense EFS 18-55 lense, EFS 55-250mm Lens, and my personal favorite, a 50mm prime lens, love the clarity of this lens. Also I carry a Cann270EXII Speedlite.

Feedback

Be prepared, know your subject, their likes, hobbies what make them smile. Plan your shots in advance, if using natural light make sure you schedule according to your location and the sun. I grew up at this softball field so I had a really good idea on the best time of day to shoot.
