Behind The Lens

Location

This picture was take at Lake Gutheridge in Sale, Victoria, Australia.

Time

It was taken in the evening as the sun set down on a stunning autumn's day.

Lighting

I have walked this lake so many times and at different times of day, but the evenings are the most magical.. The sun setting, the textures in the sky, the beautiful wildlife. It all just seems to come together in the golden hour.

Equipment

This shot was taken simply with just an iPhone 6 Plus.

Inspiration

The serenity of the moment. The lighting was devine.. I had to capture it for prosperity

Editing

I most likely ran it through a couple of minor filter adjustments via snapseed, but it didn't need much to be honest. Nature was on show.

In my camera bag

I have a cannon DSLR and only one extra lense, but I find it doesn't get brought out much these days, the trusty iPhone 6 Plus has a great camera for capturing those pop up moments. I love the idea of iPhone photography!!

Feedback

My biggest piece of advice from personal experience is getting the right position and angle. Of course lighting and balance of objects etc but the position and angle can make or break your shot. I can take the same shot from 5-10 different angles (or more sometimes) and they all throw a different spin or light on what I'm shooting.
