Behind The Lens

Location

This is a photo of our daughter laying on my lap.

Time

This was mid day while I was playing with a new lens and she just happened to be relaxed enough to let me take this shot. It was a one and done witch is rare when it comes to my pups.

Lighting

It was all natural light from a window. I just happened to get lucky on this day.

Equipment

This was with my old Nikon D3300 and my new at the time 18-300 lens.

Inspiration

I was playing with a new lens and she was just so calm. I have always loved pet photography. I always try to get great shots of our best friends.

Editing

I used Photoshop with Nik filters but this shot was very little. I do have a flare for making my shots look surreal at times but this was not the case with this one. It just didn't need it.

In my camera bag

Currently its a D850 with my "tourist" lens a 28-300 and I always carry a 50mm and a 14-24 for any special shots I want. And of course a speed flash just in case, even though with the type of work I normally do I don't use it that much.

Feedback

Always have your camera near you. You never know when all the elements will come together for a great shot.
