I, personally, am grateful to the photographers like you that take hours (sometimes days) to get that perfect shot and share their images which capture us in our busy lives and makes us stop to enjoy the beauty. WELL DONE.

Location
I took this photo standing in the parking lot in front of my apartment building in Snowmass Village, Colorado, as the fox hunted on the hillside above me.Time
It was a cold and overcast winter afternoon.Lighting
It was overcast, so I wasn't paying any attention to lighting.Equipment
Shot on a Panasonic DMC-GF1, using a LUMIX G VARIO 45-200/F4.0-5.6 lens, on a tripod.Inspiration
I noticed the fox on the hillside a hundred yards or so away, intently hunting as he worked his way in my direction. I ran inside and grabbed my equipment and was set up waiting for him when he arrived directly above me on the hill. After one glance, he completely ignored me, although I was only a few yards away from him.Editing
Just some basic light balancing of highlights and shadows so it would print optimally. In my camera bag
I try to have my Panasonic DMC-GF1 in the bag with three lenses any time I'm going out. I never leave the house without my Canon Powershot G7 X.Feedback
For a shot like this, just be prepared, and willing to waste some time, because animals aren't always predictable.
