Behind The Lens

Location

This was taken on Dredge Lake trails in Juneau, Alaska.

Time

It was midday around lunch.

Lighting

There had been heavy rain the day before but it had cleared this day and the sun was dappled through the heavy forest.

Equipment

This was taken with my iPhone 6 Plus.

Inspiration

I loved the way the water was beaded up on the blueberry blossom.

Editing

I do not believe there was any post-processing on this photo. I do sometimes use an Instragram filter but the lighting was already super that day and it did not need anything else.

In my camera bag

I normally have my Canon 7D, my favorite lens (50, 28-135) flash and diffuser. In addition, I always have my iPhone and use both.

Feedback

This would have been easy to walk by and not notice. I rarely look where I am walking (yes, I stumble often) but instead am always looking for the small and unnoticed things around me. I love abstract and macro photography. I often stop and check something out to see if I think it is "photo worthy". More often than not it isn't but I have been able to capture some amazing photos because of this practice.
