I took the picture of the datura at my home which was out in the country south of town. I loved the way the bloom hang facing down. And, the turned up tips of the flower petals make the bloom so unique. The whole bush was full of flowers so the display was quite magnificent.Time
I had walked by the bush for several days planning on taking pictures when I decided it was the right time. It was about 5pm in the evening when the sun was starting on going down for the day.Lighting
The lighting was perfect because all the backlight was reflecting off a big open field behind the house. It made for a great bokeh in the pictureEquipment
I have a Nikon D90 camera and just the lens. No special equipment was used or needed. Just a great subject for the picture.Inspiration
Seeing all the great photos on Viewbug inspires me for my shots. I honestly can't believe that my pictures are even noticed seeing all the great photographers around the world.Editing
I did tons of post-processing to get the look of the picture. I wanted the flower to just jump off the page so I add hard edges and ramped up the color. In my camera bag
My camera, Nikon D90 along with my zoom lenses. Several filters and equipment to clean with are all that I have. Oh, and my tripod.Feedback
I try to grow as many unique and colorful flowers as I can so that I have lots of subjects to choose from for my pictures.
