Behind The Lens

Location

Tiandi wildlife sanctuary, NSW, Braidwood, Australia.

Time

I took the photo during a beautiful and warm morning. Everything around me was calm, except for these two males fighting. They are very good mates and the fight was more playful than territorial.

Lighting

A beautiful morning light to enjoy the fight.

Equipment

I use my Nikon D5100, without any flash or tripod, and my 18-270mm Tamron lens.

Inspiration

I lived at the sanctuary for almost two years, I had a great photographic experience with all the wildlife around me! Kangaroos are just amazing, and a very good photographic subject for me! I was doing my round and I saw this two males flighting, Kasey and Elijah, very good mates! I stopped and watched them for a good moment! After a long time and a lot of patience, this picture came out. It really represent the beautiful and impressive Australian wildlife, and the cliché of the kangaroo boxing!

Editing

Yes, I've done the white balance, contrast, saturation, light mostly.

In my camera bag

I always have my Nikon D5100 with my 18-270mm lens, my tripod, all my filters, my remote, two other batteries, my cleaning kit.

Feedback

I was very lucky to get this picture! That was a little bit of luck, but patience too! I love to have a walk, and hope that something will happen! I always have my camera ready just in case I need to catch a precious moment!
