Location
This was taken on a country estate in Rutland, UK. I work in the gardens there, and the view over the farm land is wonderful.Time
I took this photo at about 3pm, just as I was packing up work at the end of the week. It was a late Autumn afternoon and the light was already starting to fade.Lighting
Nearly all my photos are taken on automatic, so what I see is what I get, although I sometimes 'trick' the camera by focusing on something darker or lighter than the subject.Equipment
At this time I was experimenting with a bridge camera, a Fujifilm FinePix S8600 S8650 S8630. I really didnt get on with it though. I found it too slow for the sort of 'now' subjects I often shoot. Also I found it too bulky. My little camera sits in my pocket all the time, 'just in case'.Inspiration
Not exactly inspired, I just liked the way my young dog, Kooji, was sitting with her back to me intently watching the sheep grazing.Editing
This photo is completely unedited, although now I do usually tweak them a bit, to get the colours nearer to the real thing. In my camera bag
I dont usually even use a bag ! Usually its just my camera in a pouch in my pocket as I walk, or work, or beside me on the seat as I drive. I do carry a spare SD card and a mini tripod in the van.Feedback
I am very ignorant of technical things, but if I had to offer a tip it would be take the first photo as quickly as you possibly can. If the subject holds still for a while longer you can improve your focus or composition. Many a good opportunity has been missed by too much attention to detail.
