Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in the city 'Dorst' in The Netherlands. I know a place were a lot of dragonfly's can been found but this was even surprised at I was when I saw him behind a flower.

Time

It was already getting late in the evening as then they are not that active and preparing for the night.

Lighting

Due to the late evening is was quite difficult to have enough light on my sensor but also gives more contrast which I like,

Equipment

I used my Nikon D7000 with Sigma 105mm macro attached to my Vanguard tripod. Taken the photo with a Nikon remote control.

Inspiration

I've seen some hide and seek photo's before so already had such shot in my mind till I suddenly saw this dragonfly appearing from behind the flower.

Editing

I'm not that good with LR or PS and do some basic handling like light and contrast and that's it.

In my camera bag

In my bag I have the Nikon D7000 together with a Nikon 60mm and Sigma 105mm macro. A hand full of batteries and a Nikon remote control.

Feedback

Just sit in the field and look around what's there and then choose your item and composition. When I just started I 'jumped' on the item and kept shooting but learned more and more to take time for it. Just sit, look around and you will see much more and get better photo's. Good luck!
