This is a very iconic photo taken at Peggy's Cove, Nova Scotia.Time
I shot this photo in late afternoon, as I knew there wasn't really going to be a spectacular sunset! I did love the dramatic cloudy skies, though, and the great reflection!Lighting
That dramatic sky impressed me! It was after a storm that left a pool of water in the rocks, which made for a great reflection shot.Equipment
This was taken with my Olympus PEN 1, with my all purpose 14-150mm lens. Nothing more.Inspiration
Peggy's Cove was my favourite go-to spot when I lived in Nova Scotia, though I lived over 2 hours away (which was way closer than the over 1,600 kms from where I now live!) Every trip to Peggy's Cove was a new experience: the sky, the ocean, the tourists ... everything was different. I always took many photos, but this one remains my favourite.Editing
Only very little tweaking was required ... a bit of cropping, and a bit of contrast. In my camera bag
I carry only the minimum with me. Extra batteries and memory cards is about it. If I know I will be there into the evening, then I bring my tripod.Feedback
Just go with the flow. You never know what conditions you will find yourself in. Just know your camera settings, and be ready for anything and everything! Oh, and really enjoy what you are doing, and where you are. If you're feeling it, it will show up in the photo.
