Location
This photo was taken on the coast of Normandy in Fécamp. (Côte d''Albâtre)Time
As far as I remember it was the end of the afternoon when the sun starts to go down... Most of my pictures are made in the early hours of the morning or late in the afternoon.Lighting
It isn't always easy to get a nice shot of the waves in Normandy because the light is often dull but this time I was lucky to have a good backlight. When you know a nice place, it's a good thing to wait for the right moment if you have time...Equipment
At the time I used a Canon 50D with a 18-80mm IS USM (which doesn't work any longer)Inspiration
I frequently go to this place to breathe the fresh air and see if I can take a nice shot since the sky in Fécamp is often interesting with it's colours and sunset. I like the silhouette of the lighthouse and I use it to make the most of the sky.Editing
I usually don't spend a lot of time prosessing. I mainly use the contrast, gamma and luminosity tools... I prefer to take the right picture on the spot !In my camera bag
I now have a Canon 70D and a Sigma 17-70mm f: 2.8 with an old tripod which is always in my car but it depends on the photo I want to take. I still use 24x36 and 6x6 SLR cameras with films I develop myself...Feedback
Choose the lense that will serve your purpose ; it's useless to take all your equipment. Don't take your photo too quickly, compose your picture before you press the trigger...
