I took this photo when I was on the island of Minorca looking over to Mallorca

Time

This was taken at sunset

Lighting

The light fades quickly so be prepared to open up the aperture to capture the most light

Equipment

I used a Nikon D3300 handheld with a 55 -300mm lens and a polarising filter.

Inspiration

I was inspired by all the sunset photos I’d seen before and wanted to take a chance that I might be able to capture a scene like this one

Editing

I used photoshop to dehaze the whole screen and upped the saturation on the reds Yellows and oranges to bring out the colour in the sky.

In my camera bag

I now have a Nikon D7200 with an 18-55mm Nikkor and a 55-300mm nikkor lens. I always carry my polarising filters and spare batteries and as cards

Feedback

Scout out the location and take note of the sunset times. Start taking shots just before the light starts to fade and continue at 30 second intervals to get the best shots also a torch as you don’t realise just how quickly the light fades.
