Behind The Lens

Location

I'll be honest, I can't remember the name of the place I took this photo - I don't think I ever knew it in the first place! I know it's in Plymouth somewhere. Me and my ex were bored one day, driving around, and stumbled across this little village with a gorgeous park and little pink, purple and white daisies growing out the side of a bridge.

Time

I think it was noon or early afternoon.

Lighting

The lighting is all natural! It was just the perfect time of day and the perfect angle to get the right look. I did take more than one picture, of course, but this was one of the best.

Equipment

The camera I used was a Nikon Coolpix L840. I used the macro setting to get this particular shot.

Inspiration

Honestly, part of the reason me and my ex were exploring was because I wanted to find somewhere to be able to use my (at the time) new camera! Flower shots have always been part of my specialty, as one of the first photo shoots I did with my first ever digital camera was at the Eden Project a few years back.

Editing

I did not do any post-processing, no.

In my camera bag

Nowadays I always have my granddad's camera - which I believe to be a Sony SLT-A58 - and the long-focus lens. Also got a normal lens at all times and I'm getting a tripod soon, so that'll be in there too.

Feedback

Plymouth is a gorgeous place to capture photographs of flowers, but you can also try cemeteries or friends and families gardens! As said previously, I used the "macro" setting and just rested my hands on the edge of the bridge (with the strap around my neck, of course, so as not to drop it!) to steady myself and zoomed in almost as far as I could.
