Location
I took this photo while on the USS Bainbridge (DDG-96). While we were doing work ups to prepare for our up coming deployment.Time
Early in the morning shortly after reveille.Lighting
A major storm was about to pass and the morning sunlight gave the ships and water deep dark colors that I enjoy in my photography.Equipment
Nixon D3200 with a 50-200mm.Inspiration
Not many people realize all the work the Navy does to prepare for a 9 month long deployment. All the situations that we get put I to that you never hear about. One of the ships in the image is a Canadian ship who we work very close with. They were actually in charge of that days war game. Naval ships are so unique. Usually you only see Carriers and not the small boys who protect our fleet.Editing
I just adjusted the lighting and contrast. I enjoy showing the world as it is through my eyes. Though my eyes things are brighter with sharp contrast. In my camera bag
Just my wide angle lens, 50-200mm, tripod, camera body. That's it. Eventually would love to update my camera body but I'm still satsified with the quality of my photos.Feedback
Don't be afraid to take your camera out on the ship. The photos and people you meet are so enique. There is nothingime getting photos of modern war ships. My family is amazed at how useful and modern ship life actually is. With a barber shop, snack shop, and bingo night it's worth the experience.
