When I first shared this image I was critical of the background and I was not happy about the image. While I was brooding I recevied this awesome feedback from a trusted friend.
"When you break down the mechanics of why the image is successful you may think differently Ardash. The most obvious thing is that it captures a nice moment. The rim lighting adds depth and feature to the subject as well as the bubbles in the forefront. You'll notice that the two bubbles with rim lighting on the left side stand out much more than the others AND the bubble that has caught her attention has the added bonus of being contrasted more than the others by the black chair in the background. This is the perfect bubble to stand out even more than the rest. If you imagine the chair removed from the background then I don't believe the viewers eye would follow through the frame as nicely as it does now. But after saying all of that: Some moments are just meant to be captured and not arranged or orchestrated. Nice work."
All in all I think we tend to be over critical of our work.
