Behind The Lens

Location

This was a spur of the moment photo taken on my kitchen table with natural sunlight coming in from the patio window.

Time

If I remember correctly it was taken in the late morning/early afternoon.

Lighting

I love using natural light so I wanted to showcase how beautifully natural sunlight can make an object glow as is this flower in the picture.

Equipment

This was shot with my Samsung galaxy phone. I have a Nikon D7100 however, I find that sometimes I only have my phone on me when inspiration for a photo hits.

Inspiration

I noticed how the sunlight was making these flowers from my garden glow and I had to capture how beautiful it was.

Editing

The only post processing that I did to this photo was to crop it. I really wanted to show how beautiful natural sunlight can illuminate a flower so I didn't want to post process this beyond a cropping.

In my camera bag

I normally have my Nikon D7100, a 50mm lens, an 85mm and a 35mm lens. I also have my speedlight flash, extra batteries, a lens cleaning kit, my cell phone, a comb (when I shoot portraits) a protein bar, a chapstick and some gum.

Feedback

Inspiration can come at anytime or any place! If you only have your phone camera handy then take that picture! You may not get another chance.
