Location
I took this in my mother's garden. The bees where busy this summer day. I ended up taking many photos and this was one of the best ones.Time
This was taken in the afternoon on a sunny day. There was a slight breeze on this clear day with little humidity.Lighting
The lighting is natural from the sun alone. I did nothing extra here.Equipment
This was shot with a Canon 600D, aka T3i and a 40mm prime lens.Inspiration
What inspired me to go out and take this photo is when my mom was working in the garden and was saying I should took a picture of the bees. I thought that's a good idea and allow me to experiment with my new, at that time, 40mm prime lens. So I went out and practiced with flowers and the bees. Taking many shots to capture those fast little guys. It required waiting for them to arrive in the frame I set up too.Editing
I did a bit of post-processing to bring the colours of the flower out. In the meantime, maybe the bees pop a bit more too.In my camera bag
I regularly have a Canon 80D attached to an 18-135mm lens, along with my 40mm prime lens, and my 75-300mm lens. A have a camera grip that I can screw into the bottom of the camera, a Canon 550EX Speedlight with MagMod connector. I also have the MagMod light dome and gels for getting creative with my lighting. I also have filter attachments for my lens for UV and other adjustments. As well, I keep some lens cleaner with a microfibre cloth available. Finally, I have spare SD cards for when I take too many photos, chargers for the flash's and camera's batteries, and a small First Aid kit for those unpredictable moments.Feedback
To capture something similar go out on a sunny or overcast day when the bees are busy in your own and public flowerbed. Then attach a shallow depth of feild with your choice of lens and there you go, capture and snap away near your favourite flowers.
