Behind The Lens
Location
This picture was taken at The Spit on Queensland, Australia's Gold Coast. I am a self taught photographer who has had a keen interest in model photography for many years. In Jan this year I decided to take up that interest after many years of landscape and holiday/family happy snaps. This particular photoshoot was only 1 month after I decided to step into model photography. I am currently studying a Professional Photographers course through The Photography Institute online.Time
I met with Zoe at 5am to do this bikini sunrise shoot. Unfortunately Mother Nature had other ideas about the sunrise that morning and for most of the shoot kept the sun behind the clouds. So to be honest we had been struggling trying to capture the right angles and lighting for any of the shots. This shot was taken around 630am 13 Feb 2016 in what was the tail end of the Australian Summer.Lighting
The lighting is all natural lighting and was intended to be captured as a silhouette capture.Equipment
Canon EOS 650D, 18-55mm Lens. F-Stop f/14 Exp Time 1/640 sec. ISO-400 Focal length 18mmInspiration
What inspired the shot I think was more the desire to produce some iconic shots to add to my portfolio. Some classic poses in perhaps what are cliché settings.Editing
I don't Photoshop any of my images. I do a very basic edit of cropping and perhaps filtering the lighting to darken or lighten the shot as required. This particular shot was slightly cropped only and resized. In my camera bag
My backpack contains: My camera (Duh), 18-55mm lens, 55-200mm lens & 50mm 1.8 lens Hotshoe mounted flash, LED Adjustable Video Light Lens Filter set, Remote trigger, Tripod, spare batteries for camera and lights Small handheld LED lights, Small light reflector 5 in 1 set Hairbrush, Comb, Hairspray, makeup wipes, Insect repellent, lens cleaner Pretty much everything hahaFeedback
Get up early and be prepared for anything and be flexible as to what you might capture. If you're not enjoying the photoshoot, you're doing it wrong!
