Location
This shot was taken in San Francisco. The building on the right is the Contemporary Jewish Museum.Time
Taken early evening.Lighting
This night wandering around the city was my first attempt at night photography with my new DSLR. I was amazed at the ability to take night shots hand-held, as up until then I shot Velvia slide film. A shot like this would have been impossible to take without a tripod. It opened up a whole new world for me.Equipment
Hand-held Nikon D7000, no tripod, no flash.Inspiration
When I saw this angle, the building looked like a huge stealth bomber flying over the city, with two menacing "eyes" looking down.Editing
Very little!In my camera bag
Nikon D7000, AF-S Nikkor 18-55 mm 3.5-5.6 lens, AF-S Nikkor 55-200 mm 4-5.6 ED lens, polarizing filter.Feedback
Be open to see different points of view! Look up, look down, lie on the ground! Move left, move right, learn to crop a scene with your eyes before you even bring the camera up. For this shot it was important to me to just line up the base of each building so neither overlapped the other, and make the museum appear as big or bigger than the tall building on the left.
