Location
This started out as photo of a dead tree in our neighbourhood that was "begging" to be a silhouette so I increased the contrast and used a software called Light Artist to add the sun and background. The birds are brushes which are also silhouettes.Time
I think it was mid day for the original photo.Lighting
Sunsets/sunrises are often colourful times and great for silhouette effect. Light Artist allows you to use a variety of colours and red is a personal favourite.Equipment
Canon T2i with a 50-250 mm zoom - hand held.Inspiration
I like photographing trees and dead ones have a lot of character. This particular one had a clear sky background that helped with the silhouetting. The birds seemed to fit in well.Editing
Every photo is an experiment (or many experiments) and I have already described the steps I took in "making" this photo, which was in fact, the post processing. In my camera bag
Now I carry my Canon T2i with a Sigma 10-20 mm lens and a Sony RX 10 Mod lll (which has become my primary camera because it is so versatile).Feedback
I photograph just about everything and sometimes I have an idea of what I will do with it and sometimes I have to play with it for awhile. In this particular work, software (programs and brushes) played a part. Some of the software I use regularly are, Photoshop, Light Artist, Topaz Studio and various Topaz plug-ins. I like the expanse of possibilities in creating, that digital photography and software allow me to "play" with.
