Location
It was taken near the Merlion, a tourist spot in Singapore. As my preference lean towards fine art black and white photography, it is best to say this image was made rather than taken.Time
To some, it may look it was shot at night, but it wasn't. It was around 9:00 or 10:00 am (Singapore time).Lighting
I've been to the location a few times so the image was already in my head before it was taken. I deliberately processed it 'dark' to rim light the edges of the symmetrical bridge.Equipment
For this image, I used a Canon 6D, Canon 17-40mm F4L, Lee Filters, Manfrotto Tripod and Photoshop to process the image.Inspiration
It was more of a challenge to make this image because it was shot countless times by locals and visitors alike. Same POV but different from the postcard-like norm.Editing
The raw capture was taken with ND and ND grads. It was then processed using Photoshop and Silver EfexIn my camera bag
A full-frame DSLR, wide-angle lens, remote control, ND and ND grads, and sturdy tripod.Feedback
The best advice would be to go out and shoot! No amount of reading will teach you experience.
