Behind The Lens

Location

I took this picture on my property in the Cascade Mountains of Oregon on a winter afternoon.

Time

It was afternoon in February day and I had to lie down on the ground to get this picture as it was on a huckleberry bush close to the ground.

Lighting

It was an overcast day with the sun just barely peeking out.

Equipment

I took this picture with my Nikon Coolpix P90, I won this awesome camera when I bought a raffle ticket for charity. The ground was wet and I was lying on a piece of cardboard to get the shot.

Inspiration

I took this photo as I am always amazed at the beauty of nature. The fungus, mushrooms ,moss and lichen are so beautiful and abundant on my property I love getting down close to see all the beauty and share it with others.

In my camera bag

I always take my Nikon Coolpix P90, 2 extra batteries, a couple SD cards, cleaning cloth( I am in the woods it rains a lot out here you a bound to get wet) my monopod, a tiny tripod( I get on the ground a lot too.) I recently got a Nikon D3200 with AF-S NIKKOR 15-55mm LENS and I pack it with 2 extra batteries ,extra SD cards , my NIKON D3200 cheat sheet and a rain cover for my camera.

Feedback

My advice to others is look down as you are walking you will be amazed at the beauty of the small greener at your feet. Look at the bark on the trees, the moss on the branches and the bugs and small things that are at your feet. There are so many types of plants and animals on the ground you are missing out if you don't look. I live in a rain forest so these things are everywhere I love macro so the ground is my full of opportunities.
