I took this photo in a small forest nearby where i live, north of Italy, it took me 2 hours of patient waiting for the right moment.Time
It was early morning, i mean, really early, I left home at 3 am and i get to the spot at 4.30, everything was hidden by fog so i just walked destinationless until i found what i thought was a nice place for a deer to show up to eat and chill in the morning light, i get myself comfortable for the better i could and waited, set the camera hoping for the proper light and chance, is magnificent how this picture hasn't been through the postproduction at all. Im really proud of this shot.Lighting
I was hoping to get a sort of fairytale moment helped by the fog, sunrise and a profile of a magic creature.Equipment
Nikon D810 with a Sigma 150-500, nothing else.Inspiration
The Nature, the world beauty, when i get there i didn't know what kind of image i wanted exactly, i let myself being inspired by what surrounds me.Editing
Not a single thing. In my camera bag
I always have my Nikon D810 and Nikon D3200 even tho im trying to take another one (D610). A Nikon 18-55, another DX 55-200, one of my favourite open lense, a Tamron 15-30, it is really wide and usefull for landscapes and the last one is my big bazooka 150-500 Sigma. A Manfrotto tripod, few batteries, Gopro hero3 black and camera sleeves for any weather. I just miss a good macro lens and a 55-200 full frame.Feedback
Research on the internet for places and animals behavior, wake up early, keep your ayes open but most important thing: be patient! sometimes you will struggle, you'll think you did something wrong, instead you should be confident and patient for the right moment, dont waste time on the phone, you can still admire the nature around you. Hope someone will find this advices usefull and get a once in a lifetime shot.
