This photo was actually taken at my work! Soft overhead lighting and a stark white countertop made for a perfect backdrop.Time
This was taken in the middle of the day, right before noon.Lighting
I work in an office setting, so the lighting was directly overhead, florescent lights. There is also a wall of glass about 15 feet way that let's in indirect natural light to the right of this shot.Equipment
My camera is a Canon T5 using the included 18-55 lens. I didn't use a tripod or the flash.Inspiration
I had seen a few pictures before taking this of other watches. And I really love this watch. It is definitely unique with it's movement. The gold face, under that lighting, was really spectacularEditing
This was edited using Lightroom, which I find to be the ideal solution for pictures that do not need any special adjustments. I lowered the exposure a bit, deepened the shadows, and added a vignette to bring the eye in.In my camera bag
My bag typically includes a couple of lenses, a speedlight flash, and a couple of extra filters. Keeping a couple of extra ND filters, just in case you can get a nice long exposure is key!Feedback
This shot was the product of several test shots, playing around with everything, from exposure to iso. The softer the light, the better, especially when it comes to the reflection. But keep trying! It also helped that I was sitting at my computer, editing on the fly, which made it easy to make adjustments.
