Behind The Lens

Location

This image was taken on my front porch (deck) in the early morning hours.

Time

This image was taken the early morning hours. The sun was shining on this one calla lily and it was so vibrant I had to take the image.

Lighting

This is ambient light with a tight focus on the calla lily.

Equipment

This was shot with my Olympus OM-D E-M1, Olympus 60mm macro lens, internal camera flash andI always h ambient light

Inspiration

I love flowers and so taking images of them was one way for me to learn to take photographs with this new (at that time) camera.

Editing

The only processing done was a bit of shadowing added to darken the back ground.

In my camera bag

I always have my Olympus OM-D E-M1 on hand set up with the 60mm lens and usually I have the PRO 12-40mm in the bag as well as the Pro 7-14mm. If I am heading out to the park to shoot birds I add the PRO 140-150mm lens for the distance shots across the small lake.

Feedback

Just keep trying and practicing. The more you work with the camera/lens combination, trying out new angles on the images and changing up the aperture and shutter speeds, the more chances you have of getting something you like and are proud of having shot.
