Location
The picture is taken at a abandoned old seaside hotel, which after it closed, have been struck with both fires and general decay.
It is situated in beautiful sorroundings so nearly regardless of the theme, there is a backdrop for it.
Time
The picture is taken at 2 pm in juli where the summer sun is standing at it´s highest.
Lighting
I considered a reflector but ended up with my Godox AD360 equipped with the octa softbox.
The flash was down to 1/32 so it just lit up the shadow areas.
Equipment
Camera: NIKON D750 Lens: AF-S NIKKOR 24-120mm f/4G ED VR and Godox speedlight as mentioned above.

Inspiration
Main inspiration was talented model Stephanie Lauridsen who loves locations and especially this one from prior shoots here.
Editing
The light balancing and color grading was made in LightRoom, skin retouching was made in PhotoShop, Stephanies fine skin and the soft light made this a simple task, a little spot healing brush and a little dodge and burn and that was it.
In my camera bag
Nikon D750 with AF-S NIKKOR 24-120mm f/4G ED VR and AF-S VR Zoom-Nikkor 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G IF-ED, two lenses i consider really good for modelphoto because of the colortones a little bit to the warm side.
Flash is Godox AD360 on stand with modifiers and for windy shoots Nikon SB900, who is stil a reliably workhorse.
Feedback
Good communciation in the preparation phase with the model (and stylist), inspiration pictures can be better than many words.
Keep a close eye on the weather forcast already when the date for the shoot is set, have a plan B ready if the weather cheats or be ready to move the date to better weather.
Check the location as close to the shoot date as possibly to make sure it still is useable.
No lighting stand can master a windy day, so make sure to either have an assistant to secure the stands or use on camera flash damped 2-3 stops to achieve the natural light look.
Keep the shoot to one theme and max 3 subthemes, make sure the model and/or stylist keep the outfits to little but good, not 4 sportsbag with the hole wardrobe to pick from:)
Evaluate after the shoot what was missing and remember to bring that next time, that can be safety pins, bandaid, extra water....
