Location
My wife and I took a river rafting trip through the Page Canyon. It was so impressive, these massive walls a thousand feet in the air.Time
It was early afternoon, as the sun was high in the sky.Lighting
I was happy that the height of the canyon walls helped to block out the sun, so it didn't wash out my photo.Equipment
I used a Canon 40D with a Sigma 17-300 lens.Inspiration
I was in awe of the symmetry of the canyon and how the reflection of the wall facing me split my view in half.Editing

Usually when I travel, I bring my Sigma 17-250 because it is such a great walking around lens. I like to bring my Canon 70-200 f4 as well. I currently have a Canon 60D and Canon 7D bodies that I always take with me.Feedback
I've found that my best photos weren't forced or contrived, I just happened to be in the right place at the right time. Sunrise and sunset are the best times to take photos because colors become so much more richer. Perspective and how to frame a picture in the viewfinder is the most important to me.
