What you're seeing on screen is not a nuclear explosion but a shot of the sun emerging from the horizon. The airplane was flying at 36,000 feet above clouds and while most passengers were sleeping as it was an early morning flight, I was enjoying the spectacular view, flying from Singapore to Macau.
