Christmas Day was bright and clear, so a trip up the coast along the Monterey Bay was in order, where we found dozens of California Brown pelicans sunning themselves in mid-afternoon. The camera was new to me and I hadn't done any serious photography since the 1980s, so I set the aperture and let the camera do the rest, then developed in Lightroom.
