This was the first picture that I saw from you. Outstanding! I was thoroughly impressed by the subject, your talent, and the composition.

The photo was taken at Bracelet bay looking at Mumbles lighthouse . Its a wonderful place not far from Swansea in wales.Time
This is one of my favourite photos as it was probably the first time I have attempted such a photo. I was well excited the prospect of catching some good photos crashing over the rocks. I arrived early probably around 6.30am it was still dark , found my spot and took a few test shots to set the lens and waited for high tide at approximately 7.30am on a March morning 2016.Lighting
I wanted something dramatic in the picture. We had been having a number of storms and I remember choosing this particular morning after seeing the weather forecast the night before, stormy high winds and showers. Never thought for one moment ill catch a picture like I did . The showers were frequent, the wind was very gusty but there were many sunny intervals, well worth the effort in getting the early start .Equipment
I used a canon 760d its the most expensive camera outlay I have taken , but im happy with it . As for the lens it was a Sigma DC 18-250mm with an optical stabilizer. I also used a variable warming filter and dare I say an old sunglasses lens . Sunglasses lens well ,I have a very limited budged and thought id try something to get the affect like a polariser but only for the sky . I held it just over the lens but top quarter.Inspiration
I do a lot of walking and in my are there are a number of waterfalls which are very pleasing on the camera , same as sunsets and sunrises in the mountains . I had decided to take my camera on as many walks as possible and record at least one picture so that others can enjoy what's out there and take an interest in their surroundings. To a degree this has happened and now I get why don't you try this place or that place, so this picture is from one of the suggestion.Editing
I have found landscape photos or seascape photos do need some degree of post processing (mine do anyhow) . when I started taking photos only 18 months ago nearly everything I know at this moment has been self taught, so yes I have needed some help in software. As for this picture I remember using the sharpening , filter tools as well as nd tool for the sky.In my camera bag
Besides my survival kit, maps and gps. well there is a 50mm lens my 10 -18mm lens and a x2 convertor a few filters an extra battery and a tripod . Basically that's about the limit of my budget.Feedback
Here in wales the mountains are a very dramatic with weather constantly changing, sometimes for the good and sometimes bad. But the one thing I have found is you need to plan where you go how you go and above all have patience to get the picture you want ,even if it means going back a few times. The cost of your equipment or having the best does not mean you will get the best picture. Just work within your budget experiment, even with things like smoked glass . Im building my kit up as and when I can afford it . so good luck and don't give up.
