Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo inside my house.

Time

It was taken in the daytime about mid afternoon. She was trying to play hide and pounce when something got her attention.

Lighting

There was bit of natural light coming in from the window next to her but some of it was blocked by a chair she hide behind.

Equipment

This was taken with a canon 100D with a 18mm-55mm lens, it was a spur of the moment photo so nothing else was used.

Inspiration

I was taking a photography course at the time and was needing to take photos. I have always loved capturing my cats on camera

Editing

As I not to familiar with post-processing, I used some layer to bring out her eyes and bring out the colours of her fur.

In my camera bag

I have three lens, the first is a 18-55mm that came with the camera, then I got a 50mm and a 18-135mm that has become my main lens that I use. I always carry a spare battery, I tend to need it. The best thing I have in my bag which is really silly but a car changer for the battery, so handy.

Feedback

Taking photos of cats (animals in general) has it problems, but it's one of my favorite things to photograph. The slight movements between captures can show their personality. I find a setting the captures movements keeps everything from going blurry. Also be patient with the animal, if they want to they will and if their like my cats, they lick up all that attention. I am still learning and improving.
