I transform my living room into my studio that makes it possible for me to take photographs similar to this one here.Time
This is definitely one of my favorite photos. I was assigned to take a bokeh picture for my photography class, I really wanted to d something unique and different. I wanted till it was good and dark outside so I didn't have any contamination light. I had to wait till at least 11 o'clock pm till it was dark enoughlLighting
Considering that the main point of my photo was the simple Christmas lights I used. I spent about 30 minutes getting the lights just right and where I wanted them. It took me a while to get the one light standing up the way I needed it too for the chopsticks to work.Equipment
I took this shot with my Canon t5, I used my 70mm-300mm lens to get depth to the photo. I also used my tripod to align the bowl of lights in the back with my husbands hand and chopsticks.Inspiration
I was inspired to take this photo for my photography class. While I was looking at different bokeh pictures to get inspiration, I was looking at a bokeh picture of a Christmas tree and had my bowl of rice and stir-fry on the desk and there was my light bulb moment. I decided to give it a try and fell in love with the results.Editing
I went into Photoshop to touch-up the lightening a little. In my camera bag
I always have my camera, tripod, 18-55mm lens and my cleaning kit. These are just my must haves. I try to take everything I need for the photographs I want to take, which changes from day to days.Feedback
patience. I had to take several shots before I was able to get the picture that I wanted. Making sure all the settings are correct and than lining up the frame just right can be a little tricky. I would also recommend that you have someone else "model" for the holding of the chopsticks. I did try it by myself and that didn't work so I enlisted my husbands help. having someone else there modeling frees you up to focus strictly on the photographing end of things.
