This is a picture i took in a moving cruise ship, during the sunset in Prague, Czech Republic. This one will always remember special for me since i ran for 5 kms to catch the last cruise ship for the day which took us around the beautiful bridges of this enchanting city. The bridge in focus is named " Charles Bridge"Time
This is the most magical hour of the day known as the "Golden Hour" which happens twice in a day, and this was evening time when the sun was setting in the horizon, casting its golden glow over the clouds and the river. Must be around 7 pm.Lighting
It's Au Naturel. We often find our solutions in nature, no matter what kind of challenge you face. Pictures taken in Natural light always turn out to be the best and this is a perfect example. There was No Flash, no artificial light. Only a moving boat and natural light.Equipment
The funniest part is i own the best of cameras and equipment and yet this picture came out of a Camera Phone. Yes you read that right. Its a Samsung which did this wonder. No Tripod. No Flash. No Cannon. No lenses :) just a humble smart phoneInspiration
Well, i was in Prague, on a boat, it was the golden hour, i don't think i needed any more motivation to click this picture. It was the perfect setting. The Charles bridge in the Background, the Golden Sun casting that magical glow and the cold breeze was enough for me to realise, i have got a winner.Editing
Yes a little of processing went into this picture for correcting the white balance and popping out the clouds. The river and the shadows were left untouched. In my camera bag
I most definitely carry my 55mm prime lens. This is the best one I got and the new favourite is the 10-22 mm wide angle which is a favourite for someone like me who shoots a lot of landscapes. I own a Canon 550D and I usually have my prime lens, a wide angle, and a zoom with me all the time,Feedback
There are 4 magical hours in a day which is considered the best time to shoot Landscape and the best part is it comes every day. This is called the Blue hour and the Golden Hour. In the morning Blue hour is just before the sunrise and in the evening it is just after the sunset. Similarly, Golden our is the sunrise in the morning and just before the sunset in the evening. These are called magical since the sun being the natural source of light, casts beautiful shadows over the clouds. Also, I feel clouds are very important in order to give character to a picture. Lastly, never overdo post processing on a setting sun landscape picture.
