In this photo, i explore the idea of how the strongest people have the saddest stories to tell, In other words what i'm saying is every strong person has seen what could be the worst most traumatic experiences in their life, but have came out of those traumatic experiences smiling, making them a stronger person today. (Making them who they are) "Your past defines you"
I do this by firstly taking a natural photo of my mother smiling, then adding the dull harsher colors to make "you" the viewer feel an emotional feeling while looking at this piece, by adding the colors and allowing you to feel those emotional feelings it represents the dark traumatic experiences, but as the smile is the main focus it dominates the emotional side of the photo.

Omg this is so amazing like I love how you have just dulled the photo, making the emotions more raw and bringing out the deeper meaning! Love it! The shadow also adds a nice tone! Great work!
