Behind The Lens

Location

Ahhh the San Francisco Embarcadero Pier 7 one of my favorite places I used to go to.

Time

Around 11 PM if I recall correctly. It's been a few years since I took the photos.

Lighting

All the lighting in this photo is either natural or produced by the street lights and buildings of downtown San Francisco.

Equipment

If I recall correctly this was shot on a Nikon D3200 with a 18-55mm lens, along with an Amazon Basics tri-pod

Inspiration

I was doing a night photography event with some people after a bit me and two other people split from the main group and went off to go do some shoot of our own. We walked down to Pier 7 if I remember correctly. It was in direct line of sight of the Trans-America building.

Editing

Honestly I don't really remember. It's been a few years as I've said and I've been so caught up with day to day life that I've barely have had time to actually do photography.

In my camera bag

As of typing this up. Nothing I've actually stopped due to life coming at me like a truck. But when I did I would normally have my Nikon D3200 with 18-55mm and 55-200mm lenes, an Amazon Basics tri-pod, a remote for long exposure times, a macro screw on attachment, lens hood, and basic cleaning equipment for on the go cleaning.

Feedback

Best time to start going out night shooting is actually during the day. Reasons being is so you can scout out your locations of what you want to shoot. I would say best time would be 4 hours before sundown and then 2 hours after sunset is the best time to start shooting.
