Flickers courting in circles around the Ponderosas!!

A lovely homecoming that we witnessed as this pride re-grouped after a day with the lionesses hunting and the cubs off from the hunters...

One member of the wild herd of horses that live completely wild and free on the outer banks islands in North Carolina. Wonderful experience to watch

Watching these owls as the sky fades to red, simply exquisite!

A spring cub watches his brother and munches on some yummy salmon skin... muddy paws and all!

A very cold gray day is brightened by this lovely bird gracing me with a take off!!

I was getting gas at a station in yellowstone, when this raven sacheted across the lot courting me... should I be flattered???

Visiting Jackson Wyoming, a pasture of horses and an aspen grove made for some really unique moments!

Location

In Alberta Canada, with a small group of photographers led by Aaron Baggenstos. An amazing experience!

Time

This was late in the day, just before sunset..

Lighting

The sun was setting behind us as we lay on the snow. Simply natures perfect lightbox!!

Equipment

Canon 7D mark2 II and 300 2.8 IS II with 1.4x converter , no tripod, propped on beanbag and backpack in the snow.

Inspiration

Snowy owls are of the most exquisite of birds. An opportunity to watch them and their elegant postures during flight...nothing better!!!

Editing

Yes of course, always a lightroom tweak here and there, an increase in clarity, crop to improve the composition!

In my camera bag

I shoot with a Canon 7D mark II and when shooting wildlife alway use my 300 mm 2.8 IS II plus or minus a 1.4 X III or 2x converter. My go to lens for just about everything else is my canon 70-200 2.8...A tripod and really right stuff ball head and a Wimberley side kick... works for me!!
