Behind The Lens

Location

Columbus OH, Franklin Park Conservatory

Time

Mid Day

Lighting

It was full light inside but additional flash used.

Equipment

Nikon 80-300 zoom Nikkor lens, SB Flash

Inspiration

Every year, the Conservatory does several days of releasing butterflies. I love photographing them. Lantana is a poisonous plant in the wild, but inside the conservatory it is a beautiful plant that the butterflies love to feast upon.

Editing

Just Photoshop for the normal sharpening, adjusting contrast.

In my camera bag

I actually just keep 2 lenses with me and leave everything else at home when I'm visiting the conservatory.

Feedback

You don't need a $3,000.00 lens and having to get up close. Use a long lens and step back. Just know you need a very steady hand to do this. I shot this at 1/30th second.
