Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken near downtown Denver, near Union Station.

Time

It was winter, so it was cold and crisp, the photo was taken in the late afternoon.

Lighting

It was a little overcast, which helped, because it was probably a little too early to be taking pictures outside otherwise.

Equipment

I used my Nikon D200 with 35mm Lens, and used the railing over the train tracks to keep the camera steady.

Inspiration

We were on a walk, and I just liked the shot.

Editing

I used Lightroom and SilverFx to convert the image to Black and White.

In my camera bag

When this was taken, just my Nikon D200 and 35mm, currently I carry my upgrade, a Nikon D750 with 50mm, pretty much the same setup, just more power and resolution. I like to shoot with prime lenses pretty much exclusively, it takes away a lot of unnecessary options, a few steps forward or back is better than dealing with a zoom.

Feedback

Be patient, and keep your eyes open, the best shots will be apparent if you're paying attention, and take your camera with you whenever possible, you never know when something will pop up.
