View of the Turkish Memorial (Abide) in the Gelibolu Peninsula National Park, Turkey.

Gelibolu (Gallipoli) Peninsula Historical National Park was established to honor the 500.000 soldiers who lost their lives in Gelibolu, also known as Gallipoli.

The National Park was established in 1973 and it covers an area of 330 km² at the southern end of the Gallipoli Peninsula on the European side of the Dardanelles.

The park includes memorials, monuments, cemeteries, the natural beauty of the Ariburnu Cliffs and Tuz Golu (Salt Lake). The beauty of the green hills, sandy beaches and blue waters provides an honorable resting place for the soldiers who bravely fought and died in this historical battle.
