Unusual duck

Passed this duck (I think...)today when I went on a walk. I loved the colours of it's feathers!

Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken in the Great Park, which is in Windsor. It was one of the first photos on the new camera I'd just gotten.

Time

It was around mid-afternoon while I was on a walk with my family. It was taken at the beginning of March so not quite Spring yet and still very cold!

Lighting

I did not change the lighting at all. It wasn't very light or sunny that day so I think this works well because of the vivid colours. This was when I was quite new to the different aspects of photography anyway so I didn't think about the lighting, composition or anything like that.

Equipment

This was shot on a Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX400V.

Inspiration

I wanted to take a photo of something slightly more unusual. I'd never actually seen a duck look like this before as they usually all look the same, so I couldn't resist taking this photo of something a bit more interesting with all the colours and patterns.

Editing

I didn't and rarely do for any of my photos.

In my camera bag

I have an SLR camera so don't ever change the lens. I'm hoping to get a tripod soon though.

Feedback

In England the weather is very changeable so definitely check that beforehand. It gets dark quickly so either the morning or afternoon for bright lighting. Also, there are lakes and rivers everywhere so it shouldn't be difficult to find wildlife.
