Location
Slebech Church (St Johns) is located in Pembrokeshire, Wales, UK, on the outskirts of Haverfordwest. It was built around 1830 and has not been used since early 1990.Time
This was one of my first attempts at HDR, I took quite a few photos, then crossed the road to look at a some ruined buildings and realised I had the camera on high speed mode and not bracketing! I decided to return to the church and re take and glad I did. I think I had some luck, as by then the sun had started to rise behind the church.Lighting
I decided to hang around and take a few shots as the clouds behind were changing fast and the church seemed to be back-lit by the rising sun.Equipment
This was shot with a Canon 7D MK II with a Canon 10-18mm lens and used my Zomei tripod.Inspiration
I pass the church every day as I travel to work, different days shows it in different lights, so had planned a visit in my head a few times prior to visiting.Editing
Yes, this was a HDR attempt, but also I removed some overgrown trees. You may notice the picture appears not horizontal but the church has subsidence so decided to not adjust that.In my camera bag
Canon 7D MK II with extra battery grip, Sigma 150-500 (heavy!) 10-18mm and a macro lens, spare battery, torch... fishermen’s seat.......I think I need to lighten the load!Feedback
This was not my only visit to this spot, different times of the day can make a difference, I am only an amateur and have learnt to experiment with my camera and it’s settings, It’s the only way to learn
